Frannerd,Fran Meneses is a Chilean illustrator who lives and works as a freelancer in Berlin. She presents herself as an illustrator by day and Sailor Scout at night and declares herself a vegetarian and coffee lover.
Frannerd grew up with papers and colors since his father was an architect and his passion was painting. That is why it is not surprising that she, the designer, drew from a very young age. She studied graphic design at Diego Portales University and in his third year he decided to look for and develop his own style, one in which he could identify himself more. According to Frannerd, she learned to illustrate self-taught while studying graphic design.
He began developing small projects during his studies, which helped him confirm that his vocation was illustration. He currently works in different areas of communication; He makes illustrations for newspapers, magazines, blogs, etc. But what Franned enjoys most is illustrating children’s books and educational texts aimed at children. And what she likes to draw the most are girls and cats.
Frannerd finds his inspiration in bookstores, art supply stores or even while walking, watching people on the street.
Before starting to work on any project, the illustrator has a ritual that consists of drinking coffee, organizing her workspace and playing entertaining music. Her methodology consists of several phases that she carries out as the client approves the work: first she makes sketches in an analogical way, later she applies the color and shadows and moves on to the details that will give the final touch to the illustration. Frannerd prefers that the client be very present during the process even if this means making more changes, so that the client is completely satisfied with the final result.
Although the illustrator experiments with watercolor, acrylic, wax and oil, she works with digital techniques as she finds it the fastest technique to work with. Among the digital tools, she has Photoshop CS5 and the tablet Wacom Cintiq.
Frannerd is a lover of social platforms and networks. She has a Blog personal where she talks about topics related to her daily life, shows her illustrations, her work process and shows videos that she makes and edits personally.
